The following categories of data are what we typically collect. In addition to the summary provided below, additional information regarding the collection of personal data can be found in the sections titled “Advertising and Affiliate Links” and “Automatically Collected Information.” How we Use the Information We Collect and How We Share the Information We Collect include more information regarding the collection, storage, and dissemination of your personal data. Inferences (discussed in “Identifiers” above) and demographic information are used to classify users into groups with shared characteristics. Based on our inferences, we will serve ads or content to people who may fit that demographic. We may provide you with offers, deals, content, or advertising that may be of interest to the segment to which you have been matched (“Cross-Contextual Behavioral Advertising”), and we may permit our advertising partners to better target their advertisements to the segment to which you have been matched. The information we collect is used by us, the third-party businesses with which we interact, and our third-party service providers for the purposes disclosed above, but most importantly to identify you and serve relevant advertising or content to you, to analyze the performance of advertisements and content, to analyze usage trends, and to target offers, promotions, deals, or content to you on the Site and elsewhere on the Internet.

Automatic tracking technology is used by us and our advertising partners to learn more about you and to identify you. If you click on an ad or promotion on the Site, or if you click on an affiliate link in our content and make a purchase, the advertiser or promoter will provide us with information about you. Neither your credit card details nor the specifics of what you bought are passed along to us when you make a purchase through an affiliate.

Facts and Figures Obtained Mechanically

A cookie or local storage will be transferred to your computer when you visit the Site, and your browser will be uniquely identified based on the information contained in the cookie and your browser’s settings. When you visit a website, the server sends your browser a small file containing a string of characters, which is then stored on your device. This is known as a “cookie” or “local storage.” Cookies are small text files stored on your computer that identify your browser and keep track of data related to the display of advertisements on your browser, such as the types of advertisements displayed and the websites on which they appeared. Many of our advertising partners use tracking technologies (such as cookies) on our Site and combine data gathered from our Site with data gathered independently throughout their network of websites. Affiliated advertising networks gather and utilize this data in accordance with their own privacy rules. Our affiliate marketing partners may use tracking cookies to compile information about you from the content you visit with information they already have.

To accomplish the following, we employ the following cookie varieties throughout the Site:

Known as “analytics cookies” or “performance cookies,” their purpose is to help us understand how visitors interact with and navigate our site. It includes the total number of visitors, the referring websites, the specific pages viewed, the time of day, return visits, and similar data. This data is used for operational purposes, to compile aggregate demographic information, and to track overall Site activity. Google Analytics is also utilized for this goal. Google Analytics gives us access to demographic data collected through its own cookies (i.e., third-party cookies).

Strictly Necessary/Functional Cookies: These cookies are essential in order to offer the Site and its services to you.

When you click on a social media sharing button or “like” button on our Site, or interact with our content on or through social media, you may be using a social media cookie. Your actions on social media sites will be tracked.

Advertising and targeted cookies help us tailor content to your interests and remember your preferences across visits to our Site. Advertisements that are more relevant to you and your interests can be displayed based on the information gathered by targeted cookies when you visit different websites. Some cookies analyze your online habits to assign you to a category of users with similar tastes. Using this data, third-party advertisers are able to install cookies on our Site in order to display advertisements that we or they believe are more likely to be of interest to you. We or they can use the information stored in these cookies to provide you with content that is relevant to the region in which you are now located.

Crispy Cookies

A Flash cookie is a little piece of data stored on your device by the Adobe Flash plugin, which may be preinstalled on your browser or downloaded from Adobe’s website. Flash cookies can be used for many things, such as remembering your preferences and allowing you to use a particular Flash feature. Learn more about Adobe Flash and the privacy controls it provides by clicking here. Some of the Site’s features may stop working if you change your Flash privacy settings.

Digitized Stickers Known as Pixel Tags

Pixel tags are used to track user activity on the Site and compile aggregated statistics that can be shared with our development team and third-party service providers. In addition to the IP address of the computer retrieving the page on which the tag appears, the URL of the page on which the tag appears, the time (and length of time) the page containing the pixel tag was viewed, the type of browser that retrieved the pixel tag, and the identification number of any cookie previously placed by that server on your computer, can all be collected by a pixel tag. Pixel tags, which may be provided by us or by our advertisers, social media sites, affiliate partners, or ad networks, are used in conjunction with cookies to compile information about your use of our Site, such as the pages you view, the links you click, and the other actions you take in connection with our Site. Ad networks can use pixel tags to show you relevant ads when you visit our Site or other sites you visit.

Information Recorded In Logs

Use of the Site and related events, such as information about the services you have used, are recorded in a file called a log file.

The term “device fingerprinting” refers to the process of creating a unique identifier for a device or app by analyzing and combining sets of information elements from the browser on that device, such as JavaScript objects and installed fonts.
