1. UPDATING WINDOWS AUTOMATICALLY (FIXED ON CREATORS EDITION)
This is the primary argument against upgrading to Windows 10 that can be found on numerous websites. Here’s a workaround that disables it permanently: (The only catch is that it won’t work with Home, but it should with any other version.) As soon as I remember, I’ll edit in a tip for those of you using Home edition.
If you want to disable Windows Update, use the Windows key plus R, then type “gpedit.msc,” and hit Enter. Windows Update may be found under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update.
Navigate to the right pane and double-click the “Configure Automatic Updates” option. Change the option to “Enabled” if you want to use it. Put away the extra money.
After selecting “Check for Updates,” Windows Update appears to have taken note of the modification.
2. LOOK IN C: FOR RESULTS (FIXED)
Microsoft has included its Cortana personal assistant and local/Web search function in the latest edition of Windows. The issue is that Cortana only looks on the disk where Windows is installed (often C:). Those whose drives just have one partition won’t perceive a problem, but for those of us who have more than one, it’s a nightmare. For example, I can’t find the file I need on disk D: because of this issue.
Where to find the answer; Access the Settings Menu (right click on windows Icon) Select the hard drive(s) you want Cortana to index and click the “Modify” button under the “Indexing Options” heading, then OK
Drives that have already been indexed can be accessed through the lower pane and selected before clicking OK.
Then choose state-of-the-art — Rebuild
Then you need to wait while it indexes the files on the device. When complete, Cortana will be able to view them.
3. EDGE BROWSER SEARCH ENGINE
Microsoft’s brand-new browser, Edge, made its premiere with Windows 10 itself. Before this update, Firefox was my favorite browser, but now I can’t get enough of Microsoft Edge. The only significant drawback to this browser is that it uses Bing as its default search engine (since a lot of us are happier with Google). Follow these steps to switch to Google.
In order to access the advanced settings for Google, go to Google.com in the address bar, click the three dots in the upper right corner (just below the close symbol), and then select settings. Go ahead and check the option labeled “search in the address bar using.” It will show up if you go to Google’s website, and you may choose it from there.
4. REVERSING TO THE PREVIOUS WINDOWS
Those who have upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8 are the only ones who can use this feature.
1. Bypass this step if you installed everything from scratch.
There may be times when you miss the old window settings. As a courtesy, Microsoft has created a program to help you downgrade. Windows recovery is as easy as clicking the Settings button in the start menu, then Update & Security, and finally Recovery. You’ll notice “Go back to Windows 8.1 (or 7)” if you’ve previously used that version of Windows.
The “windows.old” folder will be removed from your computer by Microsoft after one month, so you’ll only have that time to decide whether or not to keep using Windows 10.
5. TASKBAR CORTANA SEARCH BAR
Upon installing Windows 10, this is one of the first things you’ll see. The inclusion of the Cortana search box in the Taskbar may be useful to certain users but annoying to others. The shortcut to hiding it or switching to the Cortana symbol is here. The search icon may be seen as an icon or hidden by right-clicking the bar (if Cortana is enabled, it will appear instead of search).
6. DRIVER DISPLAY ISSUE (SCREEN BRIGHTNESS NOT WORKING OR SLEEP MODE MISSING)
Microsoft removes your display driver and reinstalls the default display adapter during the upgrade, causing this issue.
The problem can be fixed by reinstalling your screen’s driver. One way to achieve this is to 1. upgrade your version of Windows.
Step 2: Update the display driver through the internet by right-clicking the driver in the device management.
Three, get a driver installation program, such as driverpack solution
7. BATTERY DRAINING QUICKLY (CORRECTED. ALL NEW PROCESSORS WILL NOT BE AFFECTED)
Unfortunately, Microsoft and Intel have not yet succeeded in solving this issue. Some CPUs have had it restored; if you maintain your Windows up to date, yours might be next.
