You could have received Apple’s iPhone 14 as a holiday present. There will be a little learning curve while using your new iPhone if you’re upgrading from a much older iPhone model.
If the iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max was given to you, you might be asking what a Dynamic Island is (that little floating graphic at the top of your screen). If you received an iPhone 14 as a present, you probably want to learn more about emergency SOS through satellite and how to utilize it. You should also be aware of a few helpful small tricks that I frequently employ, including editing or unsending iMessages, which may be really useful.
iMessages that you have already sent can now be edited and deleted. Anyone who has an iPhone that was released in 2017 or later can use the ensuing function. Just make sure iOS 16 or newer is installed on your iPhone. (To find out, navigate to Settings > General > About.)
You will only have two minutes to cancel an iMessage and fifteen minutes to make changes. SMS text messages, which display as green bubbles rather than blue ones, are not eligible for this benefit. Additionally, it only functions if the person you’re messaging has iOS 16 or later installed.
Modifying an iMessage:
Open iMessage.
You may modify a message by pressing and holding it.
You’ll see a Quick Actions menu.
Click Edit.
To edit the message, choose Edit.
To finish editing, click the blue checkmark.
A single message can be edited up to five times.
After it has been submitted, you have 15 minutes to make changes.
Unsending an iMessage
Open iMessage.
To stop sending a message, simply press and hold it.
You’ll see a Quick Actions menu.
Press the Undo Send button.
Up to two minutes after sending, you can cancel a message.
They could still be able to see iMessages that you try to delete that you sent to someone using iOS 15 or an earlier version of the operating system.
A notice stating that you unsent a text message will show if the person you are contacting has iOS 16. As long as they didn’t receive a preview of that text when the original iMessage was delivered, the person you’re texting won’t know what that message was.
