Duplicate detection, a new function, makes it easier to collect all of your repetitious photographs. Only iOS 16—which you can download if you own an iPhone 8 or newer—is compatible with it. By utilizing this new function, you can free up unused storage space.
To get rid of duplicate pictures:
On your iPhone, launch the Photos app.
At the bottom of your screen, tap Albums.
Scroll down to the Utilities section in Albums.
Select Duplicates from the Utilities list.
Duplicate matches are displayed, along with a merge option.
To get rid of duplicate pictures, tap Merge.
Choose Select in the top right corner to select many photographs at once and browse through your duplicates more quickly. Even better, you may select Select All to combine every duplicate photo that iOS 16 finds.
